Solving a Common HR Problem

In 2008, our founder, Stephen Cilley, was running a fast-growing insurance adjusting firm with 70 employees across five states. Despite the success, HR challenges were draining his time and energy.

The Search for a True HR Partner

After a year of looking, it became clear: what businesses really needed didn’t exist. What Stephen needed was a true partner — one that would roll up their sleeves and become an active part of his business. But the solution simply didn’t exist.

Creating the Solution

In 2010, Stephen launched Ataraxis to fill that gap. His vision was clear: to create a full-service HR, payroll, and benefits firm that works as an integrated part of a business — not just a vendor or consultant. Ataraxis was built to handle the heavy lifting, allowing business owners to focus on growth.
